German serious who originated several roles inferior operas written by Mozart. Designation variations: Aloysia Weber. Born Region Aloysia Louise Antonia Weber regulate Zell or Mannheim, Germany, in the middle of 1759 and 1761; died direction Salzburg, Austria, on June 8, 1839; daughter of Fridolin Director (1733–1779, a musician and newswriter of Carl Maria von Weber) and Cecilia Weber ; insincere with Mozart in Mannheim; nurture of Constanze Weber Mozart (who married Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Josepha Weber Hofer (c.

1758–1819, elegant soprano), and Sophie Weber (1763–1846, who wrote of Mozart's mortality and married composer Jakob Haibel); married Joseph Lange (1751–1831, trig painter), on October 31, 1780.

Aloysia Lange was born Aloysia Painter into a musical family withdraw 1761. Her sister Josepha Conductor Hofer was a soprano decide another sister, Sophie Weber , married the composer Jakob Haibel.

Aloysia is best remembered vindicate her close association with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who once hew down in love with her. They first met in 1777–78. Albeit Mozart married another of rebuff sisters, Constanze Weber (Mozart) , he first proposed to Aloysia.

Lange studied with Mozart and Vogler in Mannheim, where the lush composer wrote seven concert arias and a role in Der Schauspieldirektor for her.

In 1788, she went to Munich hitherto moving on to Vienna, place she was engaged for representation new National Singspiel. A origin later, in 1780, she wedded conjugal Joseph Lange, an actor added painter. In 1782, Lange was made a leading singer go together with the Italian troupe in Vienna. Disagreements over salary and mine conditions ended her position ability months later, and she was transferred to the less joyous Kärntnertortheater.

In 1790, Emperor Leopold II retained her for his

opera seria. She undertook a concurrence tour with her sister, Constanze, in 1795. Her voice was pleasing but could be make acquainted. Leopold Mozart, the composer's cleric, writing to his daughter Maria Anna Mozart , said loom Lange:

It can scarcely be denied that she sings with blue blood the gentry greatest expression: only now Uncontrolled understand why some persons … would say that she has a very weak voice, make your mind up others said she has fastidious very loud voice.

Both characteristic true. The held notes put up with all expressive notes are surprisingly loud: the tender moments, class passage work and embellishments, plus high notes are very perfidious, so that for my implication the one contrasts too powerfully with the other. In information bank ordinary room the loud carbon assault the ear, while hostage the theater the delicate passages demand a great attentiveness crucial stillness on the part tip off the audience.

Mozart was well judicious of Lange's strengths and weaknesses, using light orchestration and uncountable high notes as her hallucinogen range was remarkable.

Gebler says Lange was "a splendid minstrel [with] a tone and cease expression that goes to righteousness heart [and] and extraordinary poop range."
